DIY Upgraded Floral Dollar Tree Halloween Skull Photo in Standing Frame

I'm always amazed at the Halloween decorations available year after year with varying themes and color schemes. I ultimately end up wanting everything I see when I'm out and about, but if I got everything I wanted, my husband and I would go broke! So I go out and get my inspiration, and then I get creative, coming up with more affordable solutions. Once again, the dollar tree has come through for me on another inexpensive DIY project!

The inspiration came from this lovely piece of artwork I saw at Marshall's one day. I absolutely loved it, but I wanted something more budget-friendly. I ended up finding a smaller skull photo in a frame at the Dollar Store and decided to upgrade it a little to get the look I wanted.

What you'll need from the Dollar Tree:

What else you'll need:

Here are the step-by-step instructions:

Step 1: Remove the screws from the back of the frame and remove the photo.

Step 2: Spray paint the frame and allow it to dry.

Step 3: Reattach the frame to the photo.

Step 4: Using wire cutters, cut off two roses in each color at the base of the flower. Remove eyeballs from the roses if needed. Discard any spiders/skulls, or feel free to use them in another project.

Step 5: Hot glue one rose in each color in two different areas of the frame, where desired.

I'm super pleased with how this cute skull photo and frame turned out, and I cannot wait to use this bad boy for my upcoming Halloween party!

XOXO,
